JAWS as a service is what's running when you have JAWS start up when Windows
does. That's what provides functionality such as the speaking of login
prompts before your actual desktop appears. JAWS running as an application
is when it's started manually by you, at which point it behaves no
differently than your email program.

Subject: [JAWSLite] Jaws Application or Service
Hi,
I have never heard of there being any choice as to what function jaws
performs. What is the difference between Jaws used as an app, or jaws being
used as a service? This is entirely new to me.
Many thanks,
Nancy
