[JAWSLite] Re: JAWS Loses It Sound Unexpectedly

It sounds like a system resources problem (not necessarily memory;
enough processor time, enough interrupts, etc.). It's probably
stressing your system processor and hard drive to do something like open
a PDF, and so there's no available resources to also power the sound
card. As someone pointed out, a lack of memory would just make things
worse as the system began to use the swap file, and this also engaged
the hard drive.

You could try adding more memory, a very cheap thing to try. If that
doesn't help, buy an external usb sound card. These are relatively
cheap and would help off-load some of the processing onto this sound
card. Actually, perhaps just buying one on it's own card would work,
but these tend to be high-end and more expensive than the usb ones.

You could buy a new pc; without the monitor you can get these for around
$300 or so I think. I am assuming your system is old and slow, is that
right?

        Yes, I have tried MSIE.

Losing sound of JAWS happens not only in launching internet
browser.

But always, when I am opening .PDF files, the same problem
happens.

        Please, help me. Thanks more

Since it's related to your use of the internet browser,
and that's Firefox, have you tried using MSIE, and if so does the same
problem happen?

                                          Hi to all here,

Guys, please help me in my problem in my
JAWS 8.0.

It is so frustrating to me when I
everytime I open my internet browser, launching some applications and
some cases in working with MS office 2003, the JAWS losses its sound and
will back after a minute. It is so frustrating to me and I feel that I
am not free to work every thing I want. And I don't know what is
happening at the same time.

I know that the performance of JAWS is
not like that loosing its sound even in troubles such as system hanging
and Windows not responding.

What will be the best move to remove my
frustrations of loosing sound of JAWS?

Your ideas will be highly appreciated.
