Hi,
Maybe you are affected with some kind of virus or worm which is causing your
problems with the restore points and JAWS. This has never happened to me
personally, but I recommend you to try to scan for viruses and spyware with
an antivirus and anty-spy software. After the scan, you will have accurate
results and will no that the problem is not virus / Trojan / worm.

The only thing I can think of looking into is some form of error log.

Either the Jaws one (not sure where to find it), or else the system event 
viewer which is under the control panel, administrative tools, event viewer 
option, and there you can check out both the application events looking for 
errors, or maybe even try the system event log.

Hi,
I am running Windows XP, and have been using JAWS 8.0 fine and normal as 
usual, until now. I got up this morning, jfw 8, or 9 wouldn't launch. 
Narrator wouldn't iether (odd?)... I tried the portable version of 7.0, 
nothing. I am about to try a Window Eyes demo. The only screen reader that 
works, is NVDA (Nonvisual Desktop Access)! I have seen some very strange 
behavior from MS narrator on the other hand. I will launch narrator with the

keystroke windows+u. I look at the utilitie manager, and see that narrator 
is running, but it really isn't! That narrator, running message changes in 
about 5 seconds after the launching of utilitity manager though. It says it 
isn't launching.

I have called freedom Scientific, and the problem has already reached 
escolation... My system restore somehow got turned off, and now is working 
but has no previous backups[restore points]. Any idea JAWS Lite listers? 
This is a serious issue, and it would be great if one of you JAWS users 
could offer a helping hand in the matter.
