Well, if things are always supposed to be warm and fuzzy and we can't have
any views other than cheers and applause for everything, then I'd say it's
very one-sided. I don't for a minute consider what I said to be bashing.
Why is it that as blind consumers, we think we have to swallow and like
everything adaptive technology companies do? Why is it that we are in a
culture where we have to act like everything is always great and always will
be? In general, why do we tend to praise products even when we know they
wouldn't fly in a sighted market? I'm not saying Jaws is one of those, it
isn't. But in the blindness world, that is a tendency I have seen. Always be
grateful for anything, and be beholden to the companies who charge the big
bucks. Never say a bad word or express a disagreeing view. Companies
sometimes are out of line in all walks of life. If this list is so
close-minded, then so be it. I'm not going to wave the FS flag on this one.
I respect your position as moderator, so am leaving the list. I try to be an
informed consumer, and being informed means knowing the good and the bad.
Take care all, and thanks to everyone for the tips and help over the years.
I hope I have been able to help others on occasion as well.

"An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how
much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and
what you don't. It's knowing where to go to find out what you need to know;
and it's knowing how to use the information you get."
