Yes it is accessible right out of the box. I use it on the job on a fairly
regular basis and have also used it on a reformatted, repartitioned drive
twice with success. Of course there always seems to be a few files not
recoverable, but all in all it's very good.

does that one have the ability to recover from a reformatted drive?
if it's accessible at all that is fantastic, I have one that is somewhat
useable but not well enough in my estimate since I got a headache trying to
find the appropriate controls and the files list, but I need one that can do
data recovery on damaged formatting and has a chance on recovering from a
reformatted drive.
I'll check it out anyway, just asking before I go in with both feet and
possibly hit a cement bottom just out of sight, smile.
