[JAWSLite] Re: Be careful of Google Desktop!

Well I don't like the proprietary nature of Google desktop or Google Tool
bar.

There's a little utility that you cannot stop from running that is supposed
to ensure that no other search engine takes over your browser.

Some reports I have read says that it is a form of Addware.

I blew it all away very quickly.

Personal choice I guess...KG

I have to say I have google desktop on an xp laptop and a vista laptop,
and don't have any issues with either. I much prefer the google search
interface. I also am not sure that the vista indexer handles emails
like google desktop does.

Yes, when you first install google desktop it can slow down things a bit
while it does the initial index. If you bring up your list of systray
icons with insert+f10, you can pause the indexing for google desktop, or
stop it altogether, until you're able to let it run overnight.
