Also, if you want to upgrade from XP or vist to windows 7, you have to pay. 
Why should a screenreader be an acception? We were already debating this a 
few weeks ago about another issue, screenreader companies have to make money 
somehow. For those who don't like what their current screenreader provides, 
they can switch, or even use something like NVDA, which might not do as much 
as something like jaws, but it's free.

Whether we like it or not, that's life. You get what you pay for and that 
applies for everything, not just access technology.
