Hi,
The references in JAWS 6.10 and higher to PAC Mate Desktop are for PAC
Mate users only. If you are not a PAC Mate user, I'd suggest ignoring
or disabling these features. However, if you are a PAC Mate user, have
a look in the help file or ask questions on here and other lists that
are more clear on what exactly you want to know, since I could write a
whole thesis on this very subject! Having said that, I'll summarise and
say that PAC Mate Desktop is a way, through ActiveSinc 3.8, to control
your Desktop Computer from your PAC Mate.
The options in the Advanced Basic Settings at present pertain to PAC
Mate Desktop and Remote Access. Again, ask in a different message.
However, I'll summarise and say that they are whether or not to have
speech and/or Braille output through JAWS server or JAWS/PAC Mate
Client.
Finally, the Windows System Parameters dialog temperarily control
Windows System Parameters. For Example, if you check the "Ignore
Colours Specified on Web Pages" checkbox, JAWS will disable "Ignore
Colours Specified on Web Pages" from within Internet Explorer when it
starts, and reset it's state when it closes.
I hope this message answers your questions.
