Postscript to last David, did you get Jaws from Northampton or Blazie? if the former you may need a particular person but on list I do not want to mention names. additionally David did you get a replacement as new from Dell or less, another point and you can answer this, the instructions for a repair I sent you off list, where good ones you said since I was at the time using Version 8 they wouldn't be any good for Jaws 9 Professional, Why is this the instructions in principle were the same It so happened I chose to do a reinstall but a Repair would have been just as good David, so if possible can you muster a clear answer? My initial gut reaction is that it may be sound system
related.  Might be worth investigating whether or not there
are more up to date drivers for your sound card.

Hi All:

As the subject says, JAWS 9, XP Pro, Office 2k3, Dell
Optiplex 3100.

When selecting a line of text with shift_end in Word,
'shift print screen' is spoken, following which a repeated
sibilance is
emitted ad infinitum.

Any answers welcomed?
