[jaws-uk] Re: skype Slowing Down JAWS

Dear Adrian and list:
 
Well you're running a rather old edition of Jaws, as the current
edition is:
 
JAWS 8.0.2173 Unicode.
 
I am running Skype 3.5.0.214.
 
To find out your Skype version,
select the help menu, usually alt e then
select About Skype, usually the letter a.
 
If you're running anything much older than about Skype 3.4, you
should upgrade to the latest version by selecting the check for
updates option of the help menu, typically chosen with the letter
e.
 
Updating Skype is easy as you just select the check for updates
option on the help menu and follow the prompts to download and
install the latest version.
 
The latest production version is 3.5 and the latest Beta is the
one I am running.
 
If in doubt as to which you want to upgrade to, choose the
production version.
 
While it may not have the latest bells and whistles, it is
generally proven stable as it is what most people run.
 
While I think you are running a good and stable, but aged edition
of JAWS, may I respectfully recommend you consider upgrading soon
to the latest edition of JAWS.
 
The folks at Sight and Sound will be eternally grateful for your
business and there are many advantages:
 
More features, VISTA certified, for when you take that giant leap
forward and various bug fixes.
 
Not sure if you obtained your JAWS 4.51 through Access To Work or
for education, but I believe 4.51 last shipped several years ago.
