I think Active X is some kind of plug in that comes
installed with XP and windows 2000.  It allows the sharing
of information between different applications.

The reason I recommend real alternative is because it does
not come with spyware built in.  If you don't mind this
stick with real player.

Not sure what to suggest about it not coming up.  Have you
tried listening to the program several times or listening to
a different program?

If you are still stuck you can try asking the BCAB email
list.
