Hi Paul,

The version of Real Player available on the BBC website should play all Real file types, so maybe there is a problem with the link you were trying to use, I'll take a look now and get back to the list.

Regards,

Pete H.

Subject: [jaws-uk] real player query

Hi all,

Some time ago, I posted a mesage enquiring as to why I couldn't get real
player to work on some sites.

I was told that as I had downloaded Real Playe er from the BBC site that it
wouldn't necessarily work with other non BBC sites using this type of
player.

That said, I do visit other sites which use Real Player and it works without
any difficulty.

I have just visited the Infosound website which is the replacement for the
Soundingsmagazine. I attempted to listen to the April bulletin but when I
tried to do this, all that happened was that Real Player launched and I got
complete silence.

This is a little frustraighting and so I would appreciate it if others on
this list could shed any light on this one.

It was also suggested to me that I had in fact downloadded ralone player
rather than real player from the BBC site, even though it says quite clearly
Real Player.

Any help on the above would be appreciated.

Regards

Paul.
