Hi Val, John here

I used to be a Mcaffee user and I got put off by them messages that you
described I found sometimes Jaws was OK with them there was other times when
I had to use the Jaws cursor to find the message and also there were times
when it was too graphical for Jaws cursor to read anything and if it did, it
didn't always find the information there first time every time.

Just that put me off I now am a Norton Internet Surcurity 2005 user and the
good things about it, every dialog is available and easy for Jaws to read,
if Jaws doesn't see the file name or it is off the screan you can click on
details in the norton pop up question window and this will bring the
information up and also included in this will be the name of the program and
what it's trying to do and then it tells you what it wants to do and what
could happen if you was to let that go through

I just thought I'd add my comments on it.

OK speak to you later from John and guide dog Iris

Hi Kevin, thanks for the information. If I had taken in what I had
read previously about 'insert f11' I wouldn't have needed to ask but
unfortunately the old brain seems to be wearing out. Have used 'insert f11'
and have successfully dealt with the download. It was driving me crazy -
every time I powered up, there was a bell sound and half of any text I was
reading was being obscured by the silly message telling me that there was an
update. It didn't seem to want to do anything but now, thank goodness, it
has disappeared.

Thanks once again for your help.

Regards

Val Brown

Hi Val.

Insert + F11 will get you into the system tray. You can then use your up
and down arrow keys to move through the list of items. Tabbing once when an
item is highlighted will place you on the right mouse click button which
will often open up a context menu and tabbing once more will put you on the
left mouse click button which often will fire up the application.

Regards.

Kevin

Sorry to show my ignorance, but how do I get into the System Tray to
download the virus checker update?
