Caroline,
These are the instructions I was given in college on how to
link text boxes. At the time the computer I was using only
had JAWS ver7 and the computer kept on crashing. However
the tutor tried it on her computer with a later version of
JAWS and she said it worked.
Creating link between text boxes
Assuming the Drawing tool Bar is on.
Select first text box which contains beginning of text.
Press the Alt key, ctrl+tab 4-5 times to go to text box tool
bar.
Ctrl+Enter for Create text box link.
An inverted shape appears on screen.
Turn on JAWS cursor, down arrow to second text box and press
F5 to link.
I hope this is of some use but no guarantees.
