Hi Paul, insert 6 to bring up Jaws settings centre. Make sure you are on
default; I presume you want to change the typing echo across all apps.
Search for typing echo or look for User, expand it and you can find typing
echo there. Just like you change on a desktop really.

HTH,
Amro

Subject: [jaws-uk] changing JAWS to speak characters on a netbook

Hi all,

Using JAWS 12 on a Dell Netbook.

I wish to change JAWS from speaking words, rather than Characters, as I am
finding the former rather irritating.

My function keys work normally, as far as I can tell and I have my Netbook
set to Laptop mode.

So, can someone please tell me how I can change JAWS to speak words rather
than characters.

Thanks

Paul.
