it's all about experience and finding out what a wide range of people say
and going with that. As an example of this, see below, I wouldn't touch BT
with your broadband let alone mine!!!!
I have done quite a lot of work with people using broadband from BT and
found that while indeed the connection is quite reliable, email seems poor
particularly during the day. However, if 10 people says BT is great and no
one else moans then it's just been my bad luck.
With the exception of AOL which uses a lot of non-standard software, the
issue is more about reliability of service, and the speed and cost of the
connection rather than accessibility. If you are looking for a service with
good support then take this into account. I wouldn't do it often but, if
support is important to you, give the support line a call and invent a
query. say you are having trouble with the sign up process for example.
Don't do it more than once though as the idea is to check out the support
not hog their lines.
Also look on websites like
www.ispreview.co.uk
and
www.adslguide.org.uk
and check out forums on their to see what others are saying.
Regards
Graham

Been using BT Broadband for almost two years now and not one problem in all
that time. Now that takes some beating.
