[jaws-uk] Re: adobe flash

Susan,

Adobe Flash player is a small application, known as a plug-in, which
will allow Flash content to be played in your browser. If you're not
familiar with Flash, it is an animation environment which lets people =
create
multi-media presentations which can be displayed within web pages.

Downloading the player will not cause Jaws any problems. In fact,
you may already have a previous version of Flash player installed and =
the
prompt is for you to download a more recent version. The trouble with =
screen
readers and Flash content, is that the Flash must be developed with
accessibility in mind if the two are to work together. Sadly, this is a
fairly rare occurrence.

So while downloading the player won't cause you problems, accessing
Flash based content isn't always easy. If you're interested in looking =
at
some accessible Flash content, try this Christmas game we developed last
year:
http://www.nomensa.com/christmas_game/

If you don't already have it, you'll be prompted to download Flash
player and from there you should be able to play the game with Jaws =
quite
easily.
