Hi.
Thanks for getting back to me re MSN. I've added you to my contacts so I hope
you don't mind. I'd love to chat some time so thanks again for your help.

Hi, I'm not sure what version of JAWS your using, I'm using V 8, but if while
in messenger you hit insert + V and arrow to "Inbound Message Notification With
Typing Sound", and hit space bar until it says - disabled, then hit enter to
save the settings. That should do it for you.
Windows Live Messenger Hotkeys:
Use Insert+V to toggle JAWS verbosity items, as well as those specific to
Windows Live Messenger.
The Windows Live Messenger-specific verbosity items are:
*Inbound Message Notification With Typing Sound: Generates clicking noise
when someone is typing an incoming message.
*Inbound Message Notification With Contact's Name: Announces the message that
the current contact is writing you a message.
*Incoming Messages Spoken Automatically: Speak message threads as they come
into the History window.
*Contact's Name Spoken With Message: Notify you when a contact signs in.
*Contact List Online Status Indication: suppresses [Online] status in Contact
list.
*Contacts Signing In Notification: Announces Contact's name with message
thread.
These settings are saved and automatically loaded whenever you launch Windows
Live Messenger.
Warmest Regards,
Terrill Reynolds

Hi.
I would love to turn off the typewriter clicking sound I hear when a
contact is typing me a message. I've been into options in tools and I don't
wish to turn any other sounds off. It's just the typewriter sound I'd like
switched off. Please can someone tell me how to do this.
Thanks.
Sue.
