[jaws-uk] Re: Windows Media Player version 11 and a Jaws 10 demo don't seem to be working together, any thoughts?

Hi Alexander,

In my experience the following setting doesn't seem to make much difference since I can always play sounds but it might just do the trick for you.

JawsKey (usually the insert key but is normally the capslock key when using a laptop)+the number six on the top row to invoke the configuration manager.

Control+shift+d to amend the default configuration.

Alt+s for the settings menu.

s for the synthesiser settings.

You should land on the item named "Allow wave files with software synthesisers" which you need to check using the space bar.

Now, tab to ok and press enter.

Alt+f4 followed by y to accept the changes.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Windows Media Player version 11 and a Jaws 10 demo don't seem to be working together, any thoughts?

Hi all,

I've got an HP DX250 desktop which has windows XP Pro as its
O/S.

I'm currently running a Licensed copy of Magic version 11
with speech but I also have a Jaws 10 demo which for various
reasons unrelated to this current problem, I intend to
convert to a Licensed copy of Jaws 10 Professional in the
near future.

Now, the problem is, that I recently realised that my
Windows volume was too low, so I resolved that by going into
the control panel and raising it. However, ever since then,
I don't seem to be able to play files with Windows Media
Player version 11, but can play any files with Goldwave.

Is the problem I'm experiencing something to do with Jaws or
is it a WMP issue?

Thank you in advance for any replies.
