You can get direct to the Notification icon by pressing windows+b.

Steve,

No JAWS key that I know of, but there is the JAWS key + F11 to view the
toolbar icons. However, on my machine this does not show the specific item
you need. What I do to remove drives is to make sure I am on the Desktop
(Windows key and M), then tab 3 times to the 'notification' icon and press
the spacebar to open. Cursor up the list until you get to 'safely remove
hardware and eject media', then press the enter key to open. Choose the
device you want to remove and tab to 'stop'. Windows will inform you that it
is now safe to remove.

John.

Subject: [jaws-uk] When is it safe to remove a hard drive

Hi
I am using Windows 7 with Jaws 12 and need to regularly remove a hard drive.

I can not find an obvious Jaws key stroke or command in the context menu.

Would anyone be able to advise as to whether there is a recognised method
for Jaws users to safely remove these types of devices.

TIA
