Hi Wendy.
Actually, while in an ideal world, programs should be accessible with all
screenreaders, do keep in mind that NVD is only in release build 0.5 so,
while open source programs are always in development, this release should be
seen more as an important development version along the way to being first
major release version 1.0. if you want to try a more well developed
screenreader, try System Access to go at www.satogo.com which, while not
arguing to be a full screenreader, does offer oficial support for Internet
Explorer. This is a beta version but it is the mechanism of delivering the
screenreader over the web rather than the program itself that is in beta
here. the program system access already exists.
Secondly, why does Wiltshire foods not work? it could well be NVDA's fault
as JAWS and Window-eyes users seem not to have had significant problems. I
would say that in general, it is reasonable to expect site developers to
test their screenreaders with the most popular screenreaders, JAWS, Hal and
Window-eyes are the 3 most used in the UK, but it would take a lot of
resource to test with all screenreaders available.
regards
Graham

Friends
I am trying out NVDA, which is quite good, although I don't much go for the
voices. I went to the Wiltshire site, but when I tried several times to
enter on the sign in link, the page refused to load and speech stopped for a
considerable time.
I think it is important for the site developers to make Wiltshire accessible
for all screenreaders so that every blind computer user can use it.
I have also tried the Amazon site, and that is fine. Loading new pages
after a search works well, so if Amazon can do it, Wiltshire must be able
to.
