Thanks Kevin.

I've subscribed to the Vista list and I'll download the Jaws 10 beta.

Thanks for your help.

Sue.

Hi Sue,

I don't know the answer to your first question however, regarding your
second, the Beta Release of Jaws 10 resolves this problem. You may
wish to download it from the Freedom Scientific site. I experienced
precisely the same problems as you (i.e. when using Jaws 9 I was only
able to read the first Contact in Windows Mail). There is a work
around for this problem which is, I think as follows:
Open Windows Mail
Open Contacts
Press alt "v"
go to "file"
Tab to "OK" and you should then be able to read all contacts.
I may have missed out a step here so, if this doesn't work do the
following. After going to "file", go to the top of the list by
pressing the home key and then tab to "OK", click on this and you
should be able to read all Contacts.
Sorry if this is not quite right but this issue has been addressed
previously, on the Jaws Users List by, I think Tristam of Sight and
Sound who will, I am sure correct me if any of the above steps are
incorrect.

As regards closing down, I usually do alt f4 which brings up the shut
down menu. Alternatively you can access shut down via the start menu.

There is a Blind Vista group. To join you can send an e-mail to
blindvista@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't remember whether you need to put "subscribe" in the subject line.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Kevin

      Hi.

I've bought a new laptop which runs Vista.

I put my version of Jaws on the machine last week which is version 9. I
typed in the authorisation code and the license was accepted. A week later,
I was asked to start the Jaws activation again which I did as Jaws was
currently running in 40 minute demo mode. The activation again was
successful, but I'm wondering why I had to activate Jaws again when it's
been running for a week without any problem.

I'm also wondering how to read my list of contacts in Windows Mail. I open
up the list of contacts with control, shift C, but Jaws reads the first
contact name and nothing after that.

One last question I have is when shutting the machine down, I press U for shut down then I have to cursor to the option I want to select, whether it be shutdown, restart etc. Nothing happens when I press U for shutdown as I
used to on the machine I had with XP.

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions as I know very little about Vista.

Sue.
