Hi:

you can find that option in jaws by hitting insert + J and arrowing up to
options then right arrow and enter on basics. Now tab till you hear
advanced. The first check box you land on will be "Automatic updates
available", make sure this is checked, then tab to ok and hit spacebar.
You will be back in the main Paige of the basic options, so tab to OK again
and hit space bar to exit the basic options and your done.

HTH

Hi Dorothy AND LIST:

As I recall, there is an option when installing Jaws to disable
the end-user from being able to update their Jaws. Typically
this is done in larger companies with a number of blind employees
and a central software-updating department. Or where custom
scripts have been created and they don't want them replaced by
similarly-named new scripts from a new update of Jaws.

Will see if I can figure out where in the installation process
the check for updates function is enabled/disabled.

Please be patient as I am getting ready to attend the American
Council of the Blind national convention in Minneapolis,
Minnesota later this week.

Will have e-mail from my hotel room, but will be busy attending
convention functions too.
