Hi Rashmi,
Ok then, here goes.
1. When you are in the Acrobat Reader press Insert D to bring up Dictionary
Manager.
2. At this point you will be on an "Add" button, now press enter.
3. You are now in the first of two fields. In the first field type
edit read only
4. Tab to the next field and press the spacebar. This will insert a space.
5. Now tab to the Ok button and press enter, then Ctrl S to save changes.
6. You will now be back on the "Add button" so simply go through the same
process but this time type
read only edit in the first field.
What I have described will only change things in Acrobat Reader but if you
want to make changes Globally then press Ctrl Shift D when on the Add button to
put the changes in a default file. I would not advise it in this case.
From now on when Jaws sees either of these expressions in Acrobat Reader it
will treat them as if they were a space and say nothing. However, what you
type in the first field has to be exactly right, including any extra spaces
between the words. Upper or lower case doesn't matter.
Best of luck.
David

Thank you for the suggestion but would you mind in explaining step by step
how to go about in entering each expression in the Dictionary Manager. Regards

Hi Rashmi,
As a quick fix you might try putting each expression in the Dictionary
Manager and in the second field insert a space.
The Speech and Sounds method is good but must be to do with the Acrobat
Reader.
Best of luck.

"edit read only" when a PDF document open using Adobe reader 8.1.1, which is
very annoying.
Please help to rectify the problem of my annoyment.
