Hi Amie.

To adjust the speed permanantly, press insert j to go to the jaws window.
press alt o to go to options menu then v to go to voices select global voice 
and press enter.

You are in a dialog box where you can select various options.  press tab
until you get to the rate setting.  You can press up and down arrow to
change the rate a bit or pageup/pagedown to change in larger chunks.

Hi techies
Apols for typically moronic question but I've forgotten how to adjust JAWS' 
reading speed.  Any clues?  After years of hating the American English
setting I've finally found 10 seconds (literally) to change the setting to British English, and now find the reading speed too slow. Could some kind 
person please take pity on my dunceness?
