[jaws-uk] Re: Strange happenings

I have been waiting to see if anyone else came up with an answer for you,
Jane, but, as they haven't, you can try this at least. When you go to open
a file, what is the file type you have selected? If your missing files are
.doc and .txt, and you have that set to Works files, for instance, I think
that you would have nothing listed. Set it to all word files or all files
and see if they come back.

Dear All,
I am running windows 98 and Jaws 4.5.1 and I have had a bit of a problem,
after 130pm today, I was unable to open up my documents, it said list view
zero items, when there had been 190 items in my documents, so with a friend
of mine's help I have checked the recycle bin and nothing in it, gone into
programmes and accessories and then dos prompt, with his guidance telling me
what to type into the line to get it to search my harddrive, that didn't
bring forth anything and I have managed now to have saved something in my
documents, but I still can't find the 190 files that are missing, anyone got
any suggestions they would be most welcome
with all good wishes and to let you that I shall be leaving this list when I
get my new PC as I will be using a different operating system to Jaws this
is just to warn you all, but I will let you know when as at present I don't
have my new PC which will enable me to have XP on it
with all good wishes
from
Jane
