Hi Norman and all,
I have had similar problems with the last few versions of Jaws but can't pin
the cause down.
In 6.1 the problem appears to have become more pronounced.
My suspicion is that I am interrupting some sort of function which leaves
the key settings in the wrong state. Typically, this might happen when one
is used to a sequence of commands and issues a keystroke before the previous
one is fully completed.
As I say, I have no real evidence for this.
I usually clear the state by pressing Windows+control or Windows+alt
depending on whether the keyboard is stuck in control or alt state.
Regards,
Phil Medway.

Can anyone add to or comment on this problem: every so often with JAWS 6.1
in IE, the keyboard seems to go into a shifted state in which every key
pressed is spoken as "control" + the key. Pressing control by itself cures
the problem, but only temporarily. Sometimes the confusion is eventually
cleared up and the problem goes away; sometimes I have to reboot.
I don't think I had the problem with JAWS 6.0.
Cheers,
Norman
