Have you been reading Computer active I think they had a feature on
something like this? I only know when a couple of years ago I had a HD
failure, the engineer just took out my Hard drive and put in another, and
my
not having done a back up was a hard lesson,I recall George saying there
were Companies who could recover your material but they were not cheap by
any means but suppose you were writing a book or a thesis and the lot
gone,
you may well pay the price I shall be interested to see the answers you
get. Dorothy

Any backup or disaster recovery plan should give
you the ability to quickly restore your entire
system, including Data, Applications, your unique
tweaks and the operating system itself.
ShadowProtect can recover your entire system in
minutes. All of your applications, data and
settings are recovered the exact way they were
before the disaster. Individual files may also be
restored from any point-in-time backup file.
Flexible Backup and Disaster Recovery
Backing up your system in real-time should not be
an intrusive process. You should be able to take
frequent backups, while you are working, without
noticing a performance impact on your machine.
You should be able to store your backup files on
any device that you own and you should be able to
completely restore your system - even if you are
restoring to a brand-new machine with entirely different hardware.
ShadowProtect allows you to take full system
backups as often as every fifteen minutes, while
your system is running, with no performance
impact. The first backup contains a complete copy
of your system, while the second and subsequent
backups contain only changes from one
point-in-time to the next. This is the fastest
and most efficient way to back up your system and data.
ShadowProtect will also restore your entire
system to completely new hardware in the event of
a catastrophic failure or system upgrade.
Fast Recovery
Recovering your entire system should take
minutes, not hours or days. The bottom line is
that every minute that you are unable to access
your applications and data means lost productivity that cannot be
recovered.
ShadowProtect recovers your system in minutes.
There is no need to waste time reinstalling the
operating system and applications and recovering
your data. Do it in one easy step with ShadowProtect!
ShadowProtect Desktop Edition Provides the following benefits:
· Bare metal recovery of Windos desktop and laptops in minutes.
· Restore or migrate backup images to and
from physical systems and virtual environments (P2V, V2P and V2V).
· Hardware independent restore of backup
images to different systems (P2P).
· Schedule automatic full and incremental backups.
· Bootable recovery CD provides automatic
hardware detection and network support.
· Simple view to quickly recover files
and folders or update backup images.
· Compress and encrypt backup images for efficiency and security.
· Save backup images to USB, Firewire,
NAS, SAN or any network location."
