Hi.
some anti virus programmes cause scandisk to restart several times. I don't
know what version of windows you are running, nor what anti virus package
you are running. I remember when I used win 98 that sometimes scandisk
would restart up to ten times before it got going. I cured this by
switching off anti virus software, scanning the disk, then switching the
software back on again. I'd recommend updating your av software,
disconnecting from the internet, then scanning your system for viruses
before switching off the av and scanning your disk. remember to turn back
on your av before connecting to the internet again!
