Hi,
I have not personally used the Rosetta Stone Courses but know that
they are video based and highly graphical. there is some
supplementary audio material available for some of the courses but
this would not be enough if you started learning a language. A friend
told me that there is an online demo of the courses available I do
not know anything furhter about that. You'd need to check the website yourself.
I actualy do not know about any language learning software that is
accessible with speech. If you are looking for a package to learn
Spanish, you could try "Rocket Spanish" that comes with audio
tutoirals, books in accessible pdf format and some software games to
help with vocabulary exercises. Again, though, the software part is
inaccessible.
Your best choice might be to opt for one of the courses that are
entirely audio based like thePimsleur Program (this probably has the
widest sselection of languages covered), the Linguaphone "alltalk"
courses or the Michelle Thomas method to name some. If you are just
intersted in getting the rudiments of a language, there are several
"learn in your car" type of programs that teach the basics of another
language and often are a lot more affordable than the above programs.
I personally like the "Drive time" ones that are put out by Living
language but there are several others that are probalby just as good.
Most of the software based courses have videos or are just graphical
in nature and therefore not accessible with speech.

Hi list.
Have any JFW users bought and used any of the Rosetta Stone language courses
from www.rosettastone.co.uk and if you have, was it user friendly or does it
not work with JFW.
