Hi Joan,

When you go into Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, you
need to select "Windows Components". Windows Media Player
appears there, and will be checked.

If you uncheck it, and then click OK, it will remove it.
You can then go back and check it to re-install it. After
that, I suggest running Media player, and selecting Check
for Update from the Help menu to ensure you are fully up to
date.

I've just done this myself with Media Player 10.

George.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Repairing Windows Media Player

Hi, Folks,
I downloaded some audio files recently and was told that I'd
probably be asked for my email and passwor in order for the
licence to be acceptedd. However, instead I got the message
that Windows Media Player could not validate the licence.

I tried using Winamp and realplayer but I think Media Player
has to validate the licence and I must have a fault in it
somewhere.

Can't find anywhere to uninstall or repair media player. Is
there a way to do it?

Best wishes,

Joan.
