Hi Martin.
This is defeatist I realize but I have a similar problem when filling in
YouGov surveys where some of the checkboxes don't show up. In desperation
I set a shortcut key for whichever Jaws works with the combo boxes and bring
in that Jaws to perform the task. All we want to do is achieve whatever
task as quickly as possible don't we?
Mandy.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Reading prompts for edit boxes in web page
Hi folks
I've put this off for some time but would like to get it working again if
possible. I use Halifax online banking and when logging on there are three
edit boxes to fill in, username, password and security answer. The
username and password boxes are no problem as jaws prompts for user name
or password when navigating to the boxes. However the security answer
prompt could be one of a number of questions, ie. place of birth, fathers
first name etc. Jaws simply prompts for 'enter security answer' when
navigating into the edit boxand no longer prompts me for the question
(jaws 5 and below used to and still does read out the question). When in
the edit box if I exit from forms mode and cursor up the line above the
edit box displays what jaws is prompting that is 'enter the security
answer'. The line above this is the question to the security answer ie.
'your fathers first name'. Does anyone know how |I can get jaws 8 to read
out this prompt when I tab to the edit box? As I mentioned jaws 5 works
just fine so surely there is some way I can tweak the settings in v8.
Thanks
Martin
