[jaws-uk] Re: Reading an attachment

Hi again, the first which said attachment was as mentioned endless
pages
of Legalease I phone them and emailed them and the next said attachment I
have as you know Jaws 9 and all the updates Windows xp 2002 I sent the
attachment to a friend who does not have Jaws and to she of course did not
have Jaws piping at her all the time, I asked her which version of Office
she is using and she has not a clue, but as she had her computer made for
her the man who made used something that was free, so she does not think
she has excell, I have as mentioned Office 2002 and in the packet are 2
Cd's 1 says small Business and the other Ms Office, friend does not have
anything like that. I also have lunar version 6, now for example if I scan
a Document and send it out I choose RTF and it will come in as a word
Document.I suppose I could print of theattachmennt after exporting it out. I
hymen scan it and open it in word and see what happens. sorry have put that back to front I have Kurzweil 11 and I can now scan direct into word Brianyou shouldbe able to do this,I have just spotted Alex post and I rather think he is right. I also know the senders have just had all their system "updated and the secretary is getting used to it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Lingard" <b.lingard@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Dear Dorothy and list:

JAWS treats Word documents pretty much the same, whether you
typed it yourself or received it from someone else.

Why the document has text in superscript beats me, you would need
to ask the author of the document why they wrote the text that
way.

Generally superscripts and subscripts are used sparingly,
superscripts often for mathematical exponents and in literary
text for footnote or endnote numbers and subscripts typically for
chemical formulas.

JAWS is only reading what MS Word tells it is on the screen so if
the document is weirdly formatted, it was either created that way
by the author or got mangled when they sent it to you.
