I discovered this morning that, although I definitely remember installing JAWS
17 on this machine, that my previous version, JAWS 14, was starting up, so that
must have been what's been running for a while! I uninstalled JAWS 14 and
completely reinstalled JAWS 17. I still have to check for updates and install
any that are available, but I'm hoping after that that I will have resolved the
problem.

The only work-around I found was to switch focus to another window &
switch back before typing.
However, it's now fixed with the latest version of JAWS 17. So you may
perhaps want to try a repair if you are already running the latest
version and having this issue. HTH.

I would first recommend you to check the temporary files folder on
your computer. These can use up a lot of RAM and are there just to
help your regularly accessed applications or files to open faster.
Windows Key + R to open the run dialog box in which you will type
%temp% and hit enter to open the folder. CNTRL key + A to select all
files, shift delete to remove all files from your temp folder. There
might be some files that will not be deleted since they are in current
use so ignore the prompt if you get one

Over the last few months I've noticed that when using Microsoft

on my Windows 7 desktop, if I type an e-mail message, I have to type
an awful lot slower to enable the cursor to catch up with me,
otherwise I find that lots of letters and spaces are missed out,
meaning that I have to go back and correct everything before I send
it. Ironically, it's not happening whilst typing this message, but
