I don't use Outlook only Outlook Express. So, it may not be relevant but
might be helpful. Certainly in OE the answer to your last two points is
"Yes".
Anyway, here goes
In OE T for Tools then R for Message Rules.
Enter on "Mail".
If you already have a rule then a list will appear with the rules or rule
in, if not you will be on the first of four fields.
The first two fields are a list of options with checkboxes. They are
self-explanatory I think.
It is the third field that caused me some problems. Doing the following
solved them.
Cursor down once and the choice you made in the first field will appear.
Press enter and an edit field is there to complete the information. Forms
mode is not necessary. Tab to Ok that.
When you are back to the third field cursor down twice to the item selected
from the second field. Enter on that and.
do the same. It will depend on the selection you made from the second
field, you may be presented with a list of choices.
The rest of it is easy enough to follow it's just that third field that was
awkward.
Having done it now it seems a lot easier than it used to be.
As I'm doing this in connection with the Jaws mailing list it hopefully will
be seen as on topic.

Hi Robin,
What's an "addie". I've just been looking at the message rules as well
and
have the same problem, I've forgotten how I used to do it.
I wonder if it's the same reason that has prompted me. BTW, I had no
luck
in the message rules but didn't try that hard.
Regards
David

Hi list,
Using a uniquely customised version of Outlook 2002 on this works
network, JFW 9 Pro and XP Pro, can anyone give me a few pointers on
how
to navigate through the message rules wizard, which historically used
to
be tricky with our screen reader, having to use arrow keys and space
bars at certain points. Long time since I looked at this area but it
used to be difficult to see if something was highlighted or not.
Also, my goal, if it can be done, is to see if I can filter specific
messages or users in a mailing list to go to certain folders. For
example, can I set a rule which sends George's messages to an `Owner'
folder, and others to my inbox? ...or something similar along these
lines?
I mean, can you start by selecting messages with a specific word in
the
senders addie?
Kind regards,
Robin Clayden, Telecoms
