MessageThanks Carol, have found the problem it was with Norton Antivirus you
need to uncheck Office plugins in Options, Miscellaneous, then it works
fine, something to put in a reminder file for future times.

Hi Carol,
Now we have the laptop working well we saved all files to memory stick
and cd on the desktop and reformatted it, all the setting are the same in
desktop and laptop, the only difference being the 98se updates from
Microsoft were downloaded direct onto the desktop, the laptop was downloaded
from a cd and that is working great.
I have decided to fdisk and repartition and start again only this time I
will use the 98se update cd and see if that works, the resolution was set at
800 x 600 and 256 colours on both units so I can't see how it could be that
as that is the settings it was before I formatted.
Well back too it and see how it go's
Regards Phill

Phil,
This may be a problem with fonts in a file and the fact that JAWS
doesn't work well at highest resolution settings on all computers.
Take the resolution setting down and see how you go.

I have come across a problem when moveing files from one computer to
another with a memory stick or a cd, when the files are put onto the second
computer JAWs loses focus and will not read or write, if you make a new doc
on the computer Jaws works fine.
Have the same settings for Jaws on both computers, running Win 98se
on both
Anyone have any idea what might be happening.
Regards Phill
