Ps to last, in case I get fired at by some of the smarties on list for not mentioning Jaws I add a Rider, I have a Pal who was on this list, he wanted to take a tough examination using Jaws, he was told No, a reasonable adjustment only like a Reader. I know the drc gave him treatment that was of no use at all. I wondered why the Latif case had not set Precedence a Sam had the number 1 Legal Operative at the DRC and a Super Jaws user as her Expert Witness, she won her Case and the appeal by the American company failed, but it still failed to help my friend. Incidentally a Law firm called Pinsent Mason covered this Case, that is not the same as Acting for her. They have a Publication called Outlaw, and a very kindman called Struan Robertson gave me all the information to pass on to my Jaws using friend. but the Company setting the Examination would not budge. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy Ingram-Gorban" <dorothy.ingram-gorban@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi Dorothy here I meant to post yesterday , I did phone the Law society inChancery lane was put through to the Voice mail of someone called Judith, someone may I hope phone I then had another go at RNIB to see if LizWoskett was back, again was put through to voice mail At least Liz must be back, she has been off a lot, you know the failure of the DRC Conciliationarm which went into Receivership in October 2006 meant all cases were held up and they did not take on any new cases for months, those in the Pipeline had to bee coped with as you only get 6 months minus 1 day tolodge your complaint. how do I know I had had an argument with a Bank, and just got it sorted was phoning Bristol to thank Meredith and phones lines were dead, people forget that the DRC outsource some Departments and theyare like individual companies and if they run out of money they go bust I was surprised since the only efficient part of the procedure was the Conciliation arm, Stratford arm lost my mail twice, Manchester did same thing, it was sad the most efficient went bust. Regarding the DSLDisability Laws service in Cavil street Mrs Murphy seems to be on permanentholiday and when I spoke to a Secretary, I picked up a feeling they maywind up themselves. Mrs Murphy you remember if you ever spoke to her,she isone tough lady I asked her regarding the DRC "do they Cherry-pick" shesaid " of course they do, they do not have much money, its simple to churnout Legislation under the DDA Act but if the DRC has insufficient money Well? that is the problem it sounds great get the DRC to take it up under DDA act, you need your politicians to put pressure on the Government to back up the Law with Money, I have been having a go at my Mp, sorry I cannot be bearer of less depressing news. I did say the other day not one solicitor I contacted in my town knew a thing about DDA act even that they as Professionals had to comply with information in my preferred format. I was told it would take ages and cost me a lot more, that is why I wanted the Law Society to impress the DDA on their own Members. Sorry about spelling Liz surname is bound to be wrong Dorothy----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Holmes" <steve.holmes1@xxxxxxxxxx>To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 05, 2008 5:25 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Looking for someone working in the Law field and using access technologyDavid, I'm given to understand Libra is a Citrix based application which means that the information isn't text based but is held as an image on the server. I'm unable to try Libra with Jaws at work as firstly all the user licences have been allocated so they've refused me any access. Secondly the Libra package is a UK wide application hosted on the CPS server and where I work we don't have access to it for test purposes as where I work we only access it for court case results. So unless you are with the CPS gaining permission to get something like access software put on to their server might be difficult. You know how they are always full of excuses like they're concerned that access software might either be a security risk or, cause their precious package tonot work correctly. Absolute bullshit. So if you're given this tale thentake them to a court case for discrimination. I've had experience of working for government departments in other countries and they treat their employeesvery well but here in the UK government departments despite saying they'rean equal opportunities employer they do the bear minimum when it comes tomaking reasonable adjustments just so that they can say they're within thelaw so that if a disabled employee takes them to a court case or arbitration they can say they've done what's necessary that way getting out of their proper responsibilities and still being whiter than white. Despite DDA legislation this happens time and time again.
