if, in version 7.1 of jaws, you press insert 6 while in Internet Explorer to
bring up the configuration manager you can go to settings menu and choose
HTML options and go to advanced tab there is an option for use legacy
support. if this is checked the list reads vertically if not, it reads
horizontally.
Not sure why at the moment.
