OK, here's what to do. If it is a new copy of JAWS you are getting, which I
assume it is, at the end of the installation, your Rehab Officer will be
asked "would you like to install the training materials?" and "would you
like to install the What's New material?".
You should install the What's New material, as this will give you up-to-date
information concerning the latest innovations in the new jaws release.
The above two resources are in daisy format, which you will be able to
navigate using the demo copy of FS Reader, which is also installed when jaws
is installed.
You will also find some basic training materials in text form on the Freedom
Scientific web site. This again is a getting started set of texts, and
although they are for jaws 4.5, they will be applicable in your situation.

Hi Doris,
Thank you for your advice! As my rehabilitation officer is installing the
copy I am not sure what I will get with the programme. I will know on
Thursday and so I will now know to ask about the Jaws tutorials!
Best wishes,
Hazel.

your jaws cd comes with a basic training tutorial , depending on your
version either on tape, in mp3 or most recently in daisy format. This
is a good place to start.
Cheers,
Doris
