I'll have to check what sp it is but I suspect I've had it, I just wish
I'd known this for certain before I bought the new laptop as I would've
looked more at other options.

Yes running Jaws 9 in demo mode is a bit of a workaround but hardly a
useful long-term solution.

Someone ought to tell Freedom Scientific to update their info on Jaws 8
and Vista as I checked there too before I bought the laptop and it too
says that you're ok with jaws 8.02173 and Vista,...no mention of
checking what SP it's on.

If it is a VISTA service pack 1 setup then I don't think you have much
chance of getting JAWS 8.0.2173 to go.  I think for the time being I
would suggest putting JAWS 9.0 on and run it in demo mode.  I however
stick with VISTA as you will wind up in far more trouble by trying to
backtrack to XP than you can possibly imagine.
