Hmm a while ago, I think it was Tristan sent a message on here how someone else had a similar problem and to solve this problem they had to disable some graphic card drivers, which also acted as an audio device for HD or something like that..unfortunately I don't remember the exact details, but hopefully someone else might?

Hi Vanja, I only have one soundcard and it is inside the machine, not a USB device. The problem has only arisen after (but I guess not necessarily as a consequence of) my ghosting my old hard drive on to a newer, more reliable and larger capacity replacement. Any other thoughts?
