[jaws-uk] Re: JAWS 7.1 uninstall problem

Hi Vanja,

You are right, and it gets even hairier.

I've just tested it here, and in fact you need to re-install
JAWS in order to get to the Repair option.

This is in contrast to another application I am closely
involved with where there is a "Change" option in Add/Remove
Programs.

I sure wish that the MSI install process was somewhat more
consistent in how it works.

George.

No, George, when I do that I get same as what I get when
going to programs/jaws 7.1/tools/uninstall jaws, only 2
options: remove jaws only or remove jaws and shared
components, there's nothing to do with repare or change.

Hi Vanja,

It's one of these hairy Windows issues. You go to Add Remove
Programs, and select either Change (if it's available), or
Remove. When you select Remove, you then get the Repair and
Change options as well as a Remove.

George.

I understand how to uninstall, but I am still confused to
how to repare jaws if something's wrong without uninsalling
it, or is it even possible any more?

I phoned a friend at work and he said; that if you download
7.1 again you will get the option to uninstall in the
download options. HTH
