yes if someone really wants to get onto your network then they will. One thing you can do however which could help is to turn the transmit power of your wireless output down so it works over less distance. On my ;phone it can be set between 100MW, 10 Mw and 4 MW. Wifi tends to eat phone battery ;power too Graham Page Home Phone: 0207 265 9493 Mobile: 07753 607980 Fax: 0870 706 2773 Email: gpage@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: gabriel_mcbird@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: gabriel_mcbird ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tristram Llewellyn" <tristram.llewellyn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 18, 2010 4:13 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: JAWS 10 AND WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM Having only WEP is a bit naff these days which is possibly a patent issue rather than a technical one, of course not a foregone conclusion that you are going to get done but it is possible to break if you have the knowledge (or the software kit). MAC address filtering is not very good security it will not deter anything other than casual hopping onto your network, MAC addresses can be faked because they are/have to be sent in the clear. So long as you are vigilant of the risk this may be OK. Regards.
