[jaws-uk] Installation of Jaws 9 on XP professional

Dear list,

I have just had XP professional (with service pack 3) installed on a new
machine and am having trouble with the installation of jaws 10. The XP
installation was clean (I have confirmed that it was following a
complete reformating of the hard disk).
The installation of Jaws seems to go well until the reboot with
everything spoken. Following the reboot a window appears asking whether
I want to install or uninstall the Video intercept. Clicking on
"install" sends the computer into an unending cycle of reboots. I
haven't tried "uninstall" because I don't see the point. I assume that
Jaws would just stop working.
If I simply cancel the intercept dialogue I can then read things like
the Desk Top icons and editable text with the PC cursor but the Jaws
cursor picks up nothing and if I press Jaws key + control + w (to put
text into the virtual viewer) I receive a message that there is no text
in the window. This is obviously not enough information to be able to
use the PC properly and not an adequate solution.
The video card (identified as "primary display adaptor" in the jaws
Intercept manager) is an ATI Radion HD 2600 PRO with the latest drivers
installed.
I previously tried to install Jaws 9 on the same machine with the same
results so it seems unlikely that there is a problem with files
corrupted during download.
Any suggestions gratefully received as I am fast running out of ideas.

Best wishes

Robert
