[jaws-uk] Re: I can't install the latest update for Jaws 10, could this be because I also have Jaws 11 on this machine?

My experience has been that where the update has failed to install, trying again has often solved the problem.

Hello

Since the introduction of the "Check For Updates" mechanism in JAWS FS
have not put patch updates onto the website this is why you cannot find
them. If for some reason that a given patch through the update
mechanism does not work the next best thing to do is download the full
build which includes that patch fix. These links are updated by Freedom
Scientific on the website and you will find the updated build for JAWS
10 available here:
http://files.freedomscientific.com/WebFiles/JAWS/J10.0.1167-32bit.exe

Usually downloading and installing over the top of the existing build
will resolve the problem. You will not need to authorise or enter a
serial number during this process. The only time when such an
eventuality would come up is when downloading a major version number
greater than the authorisation currently on the computer. For periodic
updates such as this latest one for JAWS 9,10 and 11 you will not need
to re-authorise your computer.

I hope this helps Alexander and anyone in a similar situation.

Regards.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your message.

I may follow your advice and re-download Jaws 10, however I
did take a look on the Freedom Scientific website and
couldn't find a download link for the update patch itself,
and I'm wondering if there should be such a link, or whether
the only way to update version 10 is to take your advice.

Also, if I do have to re-download version 10, will both
Freedom Scientific's website, and my own system take into
account the fact I am a registered user of Jaws 10, or will
I have to re-enter my serial number?

Alexander Shannon
