Agreed. I have Outlook Express on my laptop and Microsoft Outlook on the
desktop because something went wrong with Outlook Express and for basic, no
nonsense Emailing I much prefer Outlook Express and that's what I advise any
students I am teaching to use.

  Hi listers

I have to be honest and say I hate Outlook, it just seems a little too
clunky and tries to be all things for all people.

If you want an e-mail program, get an e-mail program, if you want a
calendar, get a calendar, etc etc.

If you just want e-mail, Outlook Express will do the job that Outlook
does.

In many ways I think that outlook express is easier to use.

      Try working through
http://web.onetel.net.uk/~fromthekeyboard/outlook.txt

It's for Outlook 2000 & 2002, but is a good place to start.

      George.

      Dear all:

I teach ICT at a school for students with VI. This coming term I am
going to teach some of them how to use e-mail. I am going to use Outlook
because of the accessibility issues of accessing e-mails directly via the
web.

The skills I want to teach them are quite prescribed, coming as they
do from the CLAIT 2006 qualification. The skills are listed below. I have
not used Outlook in this context before and so I was wondering if people
could write down the combination of key strokes that are needed to complete
each skill. Not only will this benefit me but it will also benefit my
students as the "expertise" is not just locked into me.

a.. Skill 3a is to access an incoming message
b.. Skill 3b is to access an attached file
c.. Skill 3c is to attach a file to an e-mail message
d.. Skill 3d is to store e-mail addresses
e.. Skill 3e is to recall stored e-mail addresses
f.. Skill 3f is to store e-mail messages and attachments
g.. Skill 3g is to reply to a message
        h.. Skill 3h is forward a message
i.. Skill 3i is to create and format a new message
j.. Skill 3j is to copy a message
k.. Skill 3k is to delete an e-mail message
l.. Skill 3l is to print a message and an attachment.
      Thanks so much,
