[jaws-uk] Help: JAWS not speaking at logon

Hi,

Can anyone throw light on this:-

I installed a USB Skype phone on my home machine. Subsequently, Eloquence did not speak at logon. I then uninstalled the Skype phone, but the problem still persists. Once at the desktop, if I unload and reload JAWS it speaks ok.

If I make JAWS default to SAPI5 it works at logon.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling JAWS, also uninstalling Eloquence, running a previous version of JAWS, but JAWS never speaks at logon when using Eloquence. I have even tried restoring my system to a previous state, but it didn't seem to let me.

Has anyone any idea of what might be happening, or how I might cure the problem? The soundcard is an onboard Sigmatel Audio, and the JAWS version is the latest 8.0.

Cheers,

Norman
