[jaws-uk] Fw: Re: Firewall.


Hi,

This may be being caused by AVG.  Do you know anyone who knows how to
turn off the certification feature of AVG 8?  I use Sophos unfortunately
rather than AVG, so don't know how to do this.

If someone can give you instructions I may be able to talk you through
them.

Dorothy,

The problem was caused by Microsoft introducing an update (of some
kind) which was not compatible with ZoneAlarm. Apart from that one
incident (when I had to reinstall ZoneAlarm, the product has worked
well. In any event the problem was caused by Microsoft, not

ZoneAlarm.

Hi Sue and List,

I use the free version of ZoneAlarm. It doesn't have an expiry date
so, if you want to use it I suggest looking on the ZoneAlarm site

for

the free version, (I suspect that the version which you are

currently

using will prompt you, after 15 days to purchase the product. You
don't need to do this because, there is, as I say a perfectly good
free version which I've been using for years).

If you have problems locating the free version let me know (off

list)

and I'll e-mail the link to it.

I don't have any other firewall on my machine other than the
