Hello Tris,

I am afraid I am not in front of this machine.

Am I right in thinking that in order to get this trial Jaws back up and 
running, the computer has to be shut down.

Also, I would presume one would do windows key plus P plus J to get Jaws up 
again.

  OPen the start menu and arrow across to the right two or three tmes, then you 
will get into a menu and can use up or down arrow to navigate the choices.  
When you get more into VISTA you have a "power" button just to the right of the 
search edit box. this baby is programmable and you can configure that to shut 
down the PC as well.

  She has just got a new computer and the operating system is Vista.  

  At present she has only a trial version of JAWS.

  The 40 minutes has run out!...

  Can anyone tell me how to shut down vista!...

  Is it different from XP.
