[jaws-uk] Re: Forms mode issues

Thanks for the advice Phil, I tried this and found it was already set to
classic and so had nothing to save when I ALT F4'd.

So perhaps you could guide me to the reset default options.

The only other factor I can think of is the fact that this is a laptop and
I am using one of my other Jaws lives. The first live was installed on to
my main works PC on which I have had some professional scripting done for a
HTML based application. I also have a dongle which will contain all those
settings. However I now use regular CD installed lives on both machines.
Could it be that the scripts for my main machine are being applied to my
laptop and if so, can you suggest how I might turn them off.

Thanks for all your help.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Before taking the radical route, it might be worth checking if you have
changed the speech profile in the speech and sound manager.

Press JawsKey+6 on the top row to invoke the configuration manager.

Press control+shift+d to change to the default settings.

Now, press alt+s then the letter m to open the speech and sounds manager.

I suggest selecting the classic setting on the list where you find yourself,
tabbing to ok and pressing enter.

Now, press alt+f4 to close the manager and y when asked if you wish to save
the settings.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Forms mode issues

Hi

I am using JFW V8 with windows XP.

I think I've got carried away when playing with settings and now I am
getting odd Jaws feedback with form fields and in forms mode.

When switching on forms mode in edit fields Jaws performs the task but
insists on telling me about row and Colum numbers as well. It seems to do
this even when the edit box is not in a table. At other times it starts
reading a few numbers back to me which sound like page coordinates.

Also when using controls like 'E' and 'F' I'm receiving incorrect info
about my location. Often Jaws says I am at the previous edit box to where I
really am.

Is there a master 'return to Jaws default settings' control? I've made so
many changes that perhaps resetting everything might by more appropriate.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve
